Tried lesson 1 again…it's hard because I'm not an auditory learner, I'm a visual learner, I need to find a way to connect what I'm hearing auditory to w visual representation that will help me to understand what I hear and be linguistically capable also - this process can be frustrating when one doesn't have internet access.

Downloaded pictures jeah sent me of accommodations, and the school. Reviewed my contract, the only part I'm unsure about is the part that mentions enrollment dropping below the school average for 3 consecutive months. Told rhonda, paul, randi, chuck, wiggles, answered everyone's questions

    5/31/09

Wrote and handed in my request for resignation from the Fire Department

I can't wait to be in a place where christianity is not the dominant culture. It is going to be like heaven….i'm excited to learn about Buddhism and just meet and hang out with korean people and learn the language

Kathy W. asked my mother if I had seen the movie Taken. Aunt penny watches the news regularly out of sheer paranoia, listening for events in Korea. She's convinced I'm going to die there or something. (not that I'm one to be concerned with death) She said the christians in korea are sending balloons with scripture over the Korean border to the people in the north. My uncle, the veteran, the patriotic american, is convinced of the "You don't know what a great country you're in until you leave the US". Bullsh*t.

Had the rummage sale. Sold off a lot of my junk, made a good junk of money. My passport came in the mail on saturday. Went to walmart today to pick up rubbermaid bins to store my textbooks and extra clothes in. I'm not sure if i want to buy a camcorder here, or wait until i get to korea. From what i hear, electronics are much cheaper there. I talked to Jeah last night about pushing my departure date to the 26th of july instead of the 15th, because i have to take my NYS teacher certification exams before I leave. I will be in Pusan (Busan), it's a large port city on the south-eastern pacific coast of Korea.
